Substitute Teachers Needed for Preschool and School

Do you enjoy working with children and young people? We are now looking for substitute teachers for preschool and school. We are looking for individuals who want to work in preschool with children aged 1–5 years, as a substitute teacher in grades F–9, or as a resource in grades F–6.

Working as a substitute with us means you have the opportunity to control when you can work. You will replace regular staff during short absences and perform the tasks included in the regular operations at the workplace where you work.

In the role of a substitute, you need to be confident in yourself and able to adapt to new environments and situations at short notice. Workplaces and working hours may vary, so it is important that you are flexible and can easily collaborate with others.

We conduct selections and hold interviews on an ongoing basis – but the need for new substitutes varies, which means the process can take different amounts of time.

School – Substitute Teacher

In the role of a substitute teacher, you are responsible for teaching based on the given planning and lead the work in the classroom. To work as a substitute teacher, you need to:

• be comfortable standing in front of a class and conducting lessons
• be responsible and organized
• have completed high school education with passing grades
• be able to communicate well in Swedish, both orally and in writing
• inspire trust and be a secure adult who can lead a group
• have the ability to create engagement and participation among students

School – Resource

As a resource in the school, you work together with teachers in the classroom. The teacher leads the instruction and is responsible for planning, while you are present with the students throughout the school day. You support students in their work, contribute to structure, and create security in the teaching situation.

Preschool

In preschool, you are an important part of the children's everyday life. You support children in their language and communication development, are available in various situations throughout the day, and contribute to a safe and caring environment. It is desirable that you are familiar with digital tools, work solution-focused, can handle conflicts constructively, and have the ability to see and meet children's different needs.

Qualifications

• Completed high school education with passing grades.
• Good ability to communicate in Swedish, both orally and in writing.
• Studies in teaching or other pedagogical education, or previous experience working with children and young people, are meritorious.
• Driver's license (B) and access to a car are meritorious.
• Experience working with digital tools.
• A criminal record extract is required. The extract must be for school or preschool and can be ordered via the Police's website. (Police (https://polisen.se/tjanster-tillstand/belastningsregistret/skola-eller-forskola/))
